I am not dodging questions, the answer is the same answer that you would give, when the topic of the question is turned to other gifts. I am showing the consistency of my view by repeating the question back to you.
Your view can only be consistent if 1 Cor 13's perfect is the cannon, since that is the only passage that talks about the gifts tounges and prophecy seperate from the other gifts/ positions in the NT. Hence the reason for me saying the bottom line in our disagreement is on what "the perfect" is. If you are wrong there, your whole ceasationism belief system is debunked and inconcistent, unless you throw out teaching and pastoring and evangelism as well (as fullpreterists do to some level).
Now, logically they may different (in your mind) because one is revelatory & one is not, but that is not a distinction given in scripture anywhere as seperating them from other gifts/positions. Only your argument here is from a what you believe is plain ol' logic. But that is not the basis for any argument, as I am sure you would agree. So again, 1 Cor 13 is the distinguishing factor.
