A lot of people have "gotten away" with murder and other stuff. Sin always has a negative effect on our life, as do all things we engage in have some sort of impact on us. Moses had to hide out for 40 years, perhaps without his sin he could have been even more powerful, maybe even seen the promise land?
Who knows, not every sin has all its consequences spelled out in scripture. Death is what is certain, and he faced that.

Well we know why he didn't see the promise land, right? He hit the rock.
But when u look at David, the judgment came swift and it was clear. We don't see anything like that ever said to Moses.
Moses is scared of the king not God when he hides out, right?

Well we know why he didn't see the promise land, right? He hit the rock. But when u look at David, the judgment came swift and it was clear. We don't see anything like that ever said to Moses. Moses is scared of the king not God when he hides out, right? Our actions build character. When I lie, lieing becomes a part of who I am. Same with Moses. His anger was something he struggled with obviously. If he had learned not to get out of control, especialy with the murder, perhaps later on in life he could have had a more peacable approach to percieved problems and wouldn't have lashed out the way he did with the rock, and ONCE AGAIN presume to be God in his anger. And just because David's sin had ONE reprucussion outlined in scripture doesn't mean we should expect that for everyone. Where is Paul's? Peter rebuked Jesus, where is his direct and quick reprucussion outlined by scripture? Rest assured all sin hurts us, and just because the scripture doesn't take time out to tell attribute all these events in said persons life to their sin, doesn't mean it didn't occur. And if I assault someone today, and get locked up, you can say that too is because of "the king" (or in modern terms our judicial system). It is a negative effect resulting from sin. Trust, it wasn't the only one...

It seems to me David's murder was premeditated.
Moses' murder was not, and he was protecting someone that was being beaten. It seemed more like an "unintentional" murder.
So I guess in today's terms we would say David's murder would classified as Murder 1 and Moses' as Manslaugther or Murder 2 (not sure which one is unpremeditated.
