What up theo café people?
Theology Café was started because I felt that in other places on the net there was no freedom to discuss issues of theology. Some boards totally banned any theological discussion. Some places only allow a little bit. If u were a Calvinist, u were forbidden to even speak on it. Preterists? No way! So I decided to start my own place where we could freely talk about these things without being shut down.
So as administrator, I have been VERY lenient as to what I allow on this board. You are free to defend any doctrine. We got Oneness kats on here, Preterists, annihilationalists, Calvinists, Armenians, and on and on. And we are free to have discussions.
However in the past few months I’ve seen a change. It has also been pointed out to me by many people. This board is beginning to be less about doctrine and more about people. One thing I learned from Hank Hanegraff: u attack the doctrine not the person. We joke around here a lot. But it’s beginning to turn sour. Conversations from one thread, hijack a different thread that has nothing to do with the topic. A heated dialogue on the trinity ends up all over the board. And on and on.
It’s easy for us to say things behind a computer. I’ve found I’m a lot meaner behind this computer, then when I’m in front of people. And I can see it’s starting to happen here.
This is the deal.
1. Can we please get back to just discussing the TOPIC. If u got beef take it to PM ( I know it’s cliché) But we need to do that.
2. Please refrain from calling names or being overly sarcastic ( NEbby…lol…J/K) We ALL do it! But I have seen to many times when people get mad and the person says “ I was just playin”
3. I will begin deleting things. Don’t write things u think may get deleted. (I’ll let u know so u can copy it)
4. Please know this site is gonna be more free then others. Some things u gotta let “slide off like snot” Sometimes the problems arise because of what we react to.
I’d rather be a “lazy” mod ya’ll. Don’t make me work. All of you have challenged me and I hope to continue to dialogue with ya’ll for a long time.
Got any questions? Let me know.
